New varieties

Bred by Kraege Züchtung, Aylin (5/C9/8/3) is a very high-yielding variety which crops over a similar period to Sonsation. The attractive, light red berries are uniform in shape and make a very attractive punnet. Flavour is good, with very high yields. Aylin is very well suited for use as a tray plant for tabletop production systems, where it achieves extremely high yields. As a result this variety is particularly attractive for producers growing for retail.
Aylin is a robust variety that also works very well in a 2-year cultivation system.
A trial of this variety is also recommended for outdoor growers.

Fardao (14/054/03) is a new medium-early variety from the Flevoberry breeding programme. Its cropping period lies between Falco and Sonsation. Fardao boasts high yields with a high proportion of class 1 fruit. Berry firmness is good and it is easy to pick. The large red – dark red berries are uniform in shape, and make an attractive punnet. Fardao also boasts very good flavour.
For the grower, Fardao is a robust variety with good mildew resistance. It is also suitable for use as a tray plant in tabletop production
systems.
Fardao is particularly recommended for direct sales, but is also suitable for growing for retail

Finette is a new everbearing variety from the Flevoberry breeding programme. This variety stands out for its excellent berry quality and very good flavour. The firm, glossy berries are uniform in shape, and make an attractive punnet. Finette produces uniformly large berries that become only slightly smaller towards the end of the cropping period. Picking speeds are good.
For the grower, Finette is a robust variety with good mildew resistance. It is suitable for growing in a range of production systems, including both under cover and outdoor systems.
Finette is recommended for all sales channels.

We are delighted to present Zappa (31/A34/2/9), a new variety from the Kraege breeding program. It has an attractive cropping period between Sonsation and Malwina.
Zappa stands out for its red, conic berries. The berries are a good size, with a high proportion of class 1 fruit. The berries are very firm and attractively glossy. Yield per plant is very high. Zappa boasts good flavour and is recommended for all sales channels.
It is a very vigorous variety, and fresh plants/fresh potted plants should be planted in the first two weeks of August at a planting distance of 35 – 40 cm.
Zappa is a very healthy variety and is recommended for growing as an annual.
